When Light Rests" and “Where the light Rest” was inspired by one of my favourite lakes—a place I return to whenever I need peace and quiet.
One still afternoon, I walked along the shoreline, listening to the gentle rustle of the reeds and watching the light dance across the water.
There, I noticed a lone fisherman sitting patiently at the water's edge, completely absorbed in the silence of the moment.Seeing him instantly transported me back to my childhood. I remembered spending long summer days beside my father while he fished.
I quietly sat nearby, sharing the same peaceful view. The fisherman became part of the landscape rather than its subject, reminding me that nature offers its greatest beauty to those willing to slow down and simply observe.
I opened my sketchbook and later transformed that memory into this painting. Rather than capturing every detail, I wanted to express the feeling of that afternoon—the shimmering reflections, the movement of the reeds, the changing sky, and the calm atmosphere that surrounded us. The bold brushstrokes and rich layers of oil paint evoke the rhythm of nature, while the interplay of light and shadow reflects the fleeting beauty of the moment.

This beautiful painting, titled "It's So Quiet," is a deeply personal piece created in 2025. It marks a profound turning point in my life and artist career, born from a moment of vulnerability after receiving a difficult medical diagnosis. Facing that reality, I turned to this peaceful pond to calm my mind, find solace, and process my thoughts. It was in that very stillness that I made a definitive choice: I would fully dedicate myself to art to leave a lasting, meaningful legacy behind.

This is my regular walking spot in Swindon. It is a quiet bend in the river where I escape the daily noise. I look at the cool water and the golden autumn leaves in the sun. For me, this is the perfect moment for peace and contemplation. By painting this piece, I wanted to show how warm light always breaks through the darkness.

is a visual reflection of a mind navigating a darkened, deeply uncertain time. The heavy texture of the reeds and the deep, turbulent blues of the water capture the weight of a sudden reality that forces everything to go quiet.
Yet, looking past the shadows of the foreground, the eye is drawn directly to a powerful, blinding explosion of light breaking open across the sky. This bright horizon represents a fierce light of hope. It stands as a reminder that even when the path ahead feels shrouded in shadow, a brilliant, transformative light is always waiting to break through and guide the way forward.

There is a small park I often visit when I need a moment to pause. With a cup of coffee in my hands, I sit by the water and simply watch. The reeds sway gently in the breeze, birds drift across the sky, and sunlight dances on the surface of the river. In those quiet moments, time seems to slow down.
This painting is a reflection of that peaceful place. It is about finding beauty in stillness and allowing nature to calm the mind. The shafts of light breaking through the clouds remind me that even on the busiest days, there is always a moment to stop, breathe, and appreciate the world around us ,or simply being present.
"Calmer Now" captures the intense visual translation of a mind finding peace within a storm of conflicting feelings. It is a piece truly inspired by a sudden surge of joy, hope, and love—emotions so overwhelming and fierce in the face of an uncertain future that they feel like a fire burning through your veins.
The vertical palette knife strokes and fiery, contrasting colors embody that raw emotional friction. In the middle of this turbulent blend of fear and passion, a serene, luminous light opens up on the water. It represents the quiet victory of choosing hope, proving that even when life is entirely unpredictable, a deep and powerful calm will eventually take over.

This painting captures an urgent moment suspended in very uncertain times. When the world around me felt overwhelming, my mind instinctively drove me back to a deeply buried childhood memory—playing on a boat, surrounded by the vastness of the water.
In that moment, the light shining down was so magical, blinding, and intense that it completely consumed everything in front of you. It was a light so powerful that it blurred the lines of reality, rendering your forward vision almost entirely black. "Quiet Before" is a reflection of that contrast: the stillness before a shift, the blinding beauty of memory, and the peaceful surrender to a light that guides us through the dark.

This woodland path was simply somewhere I happened to be driving past when the sunlight caught my eye, spilling through the trees and transforming a familiar scene into something quietly magical. I turned around, hurried home for my painting kit, and rushed back, determined to capture that fleeting light before it disappeared.
As I painted, the scene stirred an unexpected memory. I found myself thinking of a childhood friend, walking her dog before school, wrapped in her oversized hoodie. She became part of the landscape—not as a portrait, but as a distant, almost hidden presence. A memory rather than a figure, woven into the light and the trees.
For me, this painting is about how places hold stories. A simple path can become a meeting point between the present and the past, where an ordinary moment awakens memories we didn't realise we were carrying.
